Thomson’s latest DOCSIS cable modem, the TCM315 provides to cable operators a further improvement of its DOCSIS product-line with a DOCSIS 2.0-ready hardware. Not only does the new hardware allow symmetrical data transfer, and tripled upstream throughput, but the modem integrates Broadcom Propane , an advanced transport technology for DOCSIS-based cable systems. Operating exclusively with Broadcom DOCSIS silicon, Propane increases capacity and reduces delay by using patent-pending efficiency and latency reduction algorithms for optimal transmission of voice and data over broadband channel. The management of the product is identical to the previous generation for a seamless transition for the cable operators and the diagnostic offers extensive possibilities for remote troubleshooting. Thomson’s new sleek case design is consistent throughout its product line of WI-FI modems.
